Bloomin' Beautiful MIT Card

A friend of mine asked if I would make some cards for her MIT (Moms in Touch) group and I did this card. Since I needed to make 4 cards, I didn't have a lot of time to come up with a new design. Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful, Linen Background Stamp
Inks: Basic Black, Groovy Guava, Ruby Red, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron
Paper: Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Afternoon Tea DP

Pocket Fun Sketch Challenge

This is a card I made for today's SCS Sketch Challenge. I colored in the flowers using Cameo Coral and then used Ruby Red around the edges. I did the leaves in Mellow Moss and then edged then with Always Artichoke. I used Spring Flowers DP paper for the background. I love this paper and wished it wasn't retired! Good thing I stocked up on it before it did! I lightly inked up the linen background stamp with Cameo Coral and stamped it on white cardstock. I then stamped the image of the pocket over the linen background. Here's the details:

Sets:Pocket Fun, Linen Background
Inks: Basic Black, Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom
Paper: Spring Flowers DP, Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral
Accessories: Groovy Guava Ribbon, Silver Brads, CAD, Barely Banana Brads, Ticket Corner Punch, 1/16" Punch, Scissors, Stampin' Dimensionals

Giving Thanks Card

Todays color challenge on SCS was to make a card using Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip. For some reason I tried several different layouts until I ended up with this one. I stamped the flower 3 times - the full image and then the top of the flower twice. I cut the flower out and then just the center of the flower. I then layered the flower using stampin' dimensionals. Here's what I used:

Stamp Sets: Give Thanks, Cheesecloth Background Stamp
Inks: Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, So Saffron
Paper: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Vintage Brads, Distressing Tool, Watercolor Brush, Brown and Pink Ribbon, Scissors, Stampin' Dimensionals, 1/16" Punch

Pun Fun Film Card

I made this card for the Long Tall Sally Limited Supply SCS challenge today. I didn't have a lot of time to stamp today, but thought I would try making a film card for this challenge. I just got the slit punch and wanted to see how it worked - it was pretty simple. There is a guide on the bottom of the punch that helps you line up your cardstock. I watercolored in the rocket and used some retired SU star eyelets. I set them with my Crop-a-Dile - this is another "how did I live without this" tool! This is a great tool for doing more than setting eyelets! The top hole in Richard's gym shoe ripped the other day and I used it to punch another hole so he could lace up his shoes! Have a good one - thanks for taking a peek.

Stamp Sets: Pun Fun, Background Basics
Inks: Basic Black, Brilliant Blue, YoYo Yellow
Cardstock: YoYo Yellow, Brilliant Blue, Whisper White
Accessories: Star Eyelets, CAD, Square Punch, Slip Punch, Watercolor Brush

Artfully Asian Sketch Challenge

I decided to combine 2 sketch challenges from SCS ( Splitcoasters) into one card. The first challenge was to do a color combination of Groovy Guava, Blush Blossom and Going Grey. The second was a layout challenge. I sponged the edges of the Blush Blossom with a sponge and Groovy Guava ink and used the distress tool on the edges. It's a new tool and I love it!! Thanks for taking a peek - make it a great day! Here's the details:

Stamp Sets: Artfully Asian, Linen Background Stamp
Inks: Going Grey, Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
Papers: Afternoon Tea DP Paper, Groovy Guava, Blush Blossom, Going Grey, Whisper White
Accessories: Groovy Guava Ribbon, Watercolor Brush, Distressing Tool, Hodgepodge Hardware - Aged Cooper, Vintage Brads, Ticket Corner Punch, Large Oval Punch, Sponge, Mini-Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Cuttlebug & D'Vine Swirls Folder

Bloomin' Beautiful -

I love Jodi's gallery on SCS; her work is wonderful! I just got Bloomin' Beautiful (in the mini-catalog) and it was fun to use this set to case one of her cards for SCS challenge this Sunday. I don't know if you can see this really well in the close up picture, but I cut out different parts of the flower and layered them over each other. My camera was acting kind of strange tonight - must be low on batteries. I also just got the Cutter Kit and love the distressing tool! I used it around all the edges, except for the Groovy Guava cardstock. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful, Small Script, Linen Background Stamp
Paper: Afternoon Tea DP paper, Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Inks: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Med. Watercolor Brush, Vintage Brads, 1/16" Punch, Distressing Tool, Sponge, Brown Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-Jig, Scissors

Cased Color Challenge Merci Card

Today the challenge on splitcoasters was to case a card from a featured gallery. You had to change 2 or more things on the card. Today the features stamper was Kristi's (called Ink Spot on SCS) and she has some awesome cards on SCS. I am not 100% sure if I like how this card turned out. Ben started a running a high fever again and I think he has strep (off to the dr. tomorrow!). I didn't have a lot of time to put into this card, but thought I would post it anyway. Here's the recipe:

Stamp: Merci, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Paper: Whisper White, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Flowers For You DP
Inks: Basic Black, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Fire Circles Brad, Unibal White Pen, Wild Wasabi Ribbon, Medium Watercolor Brush, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Punch, Small Oval Punch, 1/8" Punch, Scissors, Sewing Machine, Stampin' Dimensionals

Pun Fun Card

Chelsie is still not feeling well and didn't go to school today. With MHS being on a block schedule, I can only image how much homework she will have when she goes back on Monday! Anyway, I thought I would take advantage of being home and did this card for the SCS Weekend Sketch Challenge. I ordered this set in conjunction with the Free Wheel Promotion going on right now and knew I needed to make something with this great set! I used the Spots & Dots Cuttlebug folder and tried the reverse imaging technique. You have to ink up the inside of the folder using a brayer and inkpad. Put your cardstock in the folder and then run the cutting pads through the Cuttlebug and it "reverses" the color on the cardstock. Simple and fun! The saying I used is computer generated. I have 2 pictures - after I made the first one, I wanted the background behind the rocket to look like the moon, so I did it over. Here's the recipe:

Stamps: Pun Fun, Like It A Latte (for the smoke coming out of the rocket, Print Pattern Background Stamp
Inks: Wild Wasabi, Brilliant Blue, YoYo Yellow, Only Orange, Basic Black, Bashful Blue
Cardstock: Whisper White, Brilliant Blue, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Orange Ribbon, Cuttlebug & Spots & Dots Folder, Brilliant Blue Eyelet, CAD, CM circle templates and cutters, Brayer, Pop-Up Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Scissors

Voila SCS Challenge Card

This is the first time I have done a SCS Sketch Challenge and I thought the Voila set would be perfect to use. Chelsie has a very nasty flu bug right now. Ben said he wasn't feel all that great when he left for school, but I think he just hoping to stay home! Since I really can't go anywhere, I thought I would use this time to stamp!! As I started to sew the edges on the So Saffron & DP Paper, my sewing machine ran out of thread. So I thought I would just continue on sewing and just pulled out the thread! Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a great day! Here's the details:

Stamp Set: Voila
Paper: Whisper White, Cutie Pie DP, Bashful Blue, So Saffron
Ink: Basic Black, So Saffron, Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Going Grey, Close to Cocoa; Rose Red Marker
Accessories: Blue Ribbon, Medium Watercolor Brush, Scallop Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Silver & So Saffron Brads, 1/16" Punch, Scissors, Sewing Machine, Stampin' Dimensionals
