Button Box

I made this button box for this week's LNS challenge - which was to make a project using circle. So I thought, why not make a button box - and here it is. The b and x are SU chipboard that I covered in designer paper. It was fun to make and I now have a place to stash my buttons! Happy Mother's Day everyone - hope you have a great day celebrating you!

Quick Thank You Card

I needed a super quick thank you card and came up with this one. Because the window sheets are so reflective, it was hard to take a good picture of the card. This card took me about 5 minutes to do! Here's the recipe:

Top Note Die Purse

I made this purse gift card holder from a tutorial I saw on Becky Roberts blog (http://inkingidaho.blogspot.com/2009/03/top-note-purse-instructions.html). I have seen these on SCS and really wanted to give it a try - so here is my version!

Card for Bridal Shower

My nephew and his fiance's bridal shower is tomorrow and I made them this card. I am not sure which one I like better, the one with the pearls in the corner or without. This is how I made the dress: I ran a piece of vellum card stock through the Big Shot using the Manhattan Flower Die Folder. I then ran the vellum through the Big Shot using the Scallop Circle Die and then cut the dress out with a pattern I got from Patty Bennett. I layered the background of the card using Pink Pirouette c/s, then Pink Pirouette DP, then layered a dotted pattern from the Printed Window Sheets. I colored in a flower from the Pretties kit using a Pink Pirouette ink pad, then layered with a flower from the Filigree brads and added a pearl on the top. I colored in the saying using Pretty in Pink and Basic Black markers, and punched it out with a large oval punch. Thanks for stopping by; have a great weekend!

Flower Basket

I made this flower basket for a LateNightStampers challenge. It's just like the one we made at my stamp camp last week, only it's smaller and the flowers were made with the SU Simple Flower Embosslit Die (page 202) and Pixie Pink card stock. The basket was made using the SU Baskets & Blooms Die. I dyed the Whisper White Ribbon Pixie Pink using a sponge dauber. The only stamping involved with this card is the saying. Here's the details:

Mother's Day Card

I made this card for Richard's mother, and I like how it turned out. It was hard to take a good picture due to lack of sun today! I embossed the rose 3x using a white craft inkpad and clear embossing powder. I sponged Cameo Coral over each flower and then added some Ruby Red for contrast. I then cut different sections out and layered using stampin' dimensionals. I ran some vellum cardstock through the Big Shot using the Manhattan Die. I then sponged Cameo Coral over the back of the vellum, and cut along the image border. Stamped the background with Baroque Motifs. The ribbon is what I dyed earlier and have a post on how to die ribbon below. The saying is computer generated. Thanks for stopping by on this rainy Saturday!

Ribbon

Hi everyone! Have you ever wanted your ribbon to match your card stock, but you didn't have the right color? Here's a very easy way to this:

Supplies: Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Sponge Dauber, Classic Ink pad

Directions: Ink up your sponge dauber with the desired color and then gently rub it over the ribbon. If you think the color is too light, all you have to do is go back over the ribbon again with the sponge dauber. Easy, peasy! You need to make sure you have a piece of paper under your ribbon so you don't stain your work station. Let the ribbon dry, and add to your project!

My "New" Stamping Room (Again)

Once again I have rearranged my stamping room! I think I like this layout. I can stamp if Ben is on the computer, and we won't be in each others way. I feel very blessed to have a space that I can hang in, stamp and sew! I made sure that the cats have a place to take their daily naps as well.

Ribbon Frame Card

I have seen cards made using a ribbon as a frame on the card, so I thought I would give it a try. Not as easy at it looks. But once I figured out how to do it, it was fairly easy. I punched out holes, using my CAD, on the corners and then threaded cut ribbon through the holes. I stamped the flower 3 times, and cut out the flower, the middle of the flower and the flower pot separate. I then colored them in, and then layered them on the sponged background. For the background of the flower pot, I simply used a sponge dauber and lightly sponged Bashful Blue and Kiwi Kiss on the card stock.

Manhattan Folder

I love, love the new Manhattan Textured Impressions Die Folder (page 202)! This folder makes doing an elegant, yet simple, card a breeze!! I ran the folder through my Big Shot using vellum cardstock, cut out the outline of the roses and layered on a card - easy peasy!! Details:

Spring Flower Basket

Spring Flower Basket! The LateNightStampers, a Yahoo group I just joined, has a current challenge to create a card using flowers. I saw a card on SCS, done by craftycaro (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1313521?cat=500&ppuser=50802). I love how she used the basket from the SU Baskets & Bloom die for this project! I changed the layout by adding more layers and then drew a border design on the white c/s. It's hard to see, but I used the SU Backgrounds I Texturz Plates on the basket and white card stock. The flower image are from the set, Petal Pizzazz; stamped with Pixie Pink and punched out with the Scallop Circle Punch. The tricky part was figuring out how to layer the flowers in the basket. Emboss Resist Card

I was on stampTV (http://stamptv.ning.com/) the other day and saw a card that the very talented Gina K did using the emboss resist technique. I have never tried this technique and loved how easy it was to do! This is one of the projects we will be doing at my stamp camp this Sunday!! I followed the layout that Gina did, but changed the colors and layout a little bit. I used the stamp set, Flowers in Silhouette for the focal point of the card. I love doing the Sunday challenges from SCS. The idea is to case a card from the featured artist and change 2 things on the card.
