Happy Moments LNS Card

This week's LNS challenge is to make a birthday card.  I think the SAB set, Happy Moments, is a great set to use for this challenge.  I stamped the image 3x's, cut them out, and then colored the images using Pixie Pink, Green Galore and YoYo Yellow markers.  Ran the Green Galore and Pixie Pink cardstock through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder.  Drew a design on the Whisper White cardstock using the same markers.  Here's the rest of the details:

Decor Elements in the Family Room

I purchased this Decor Element set a while ago (it's retired) and again, finally, put this up in my family room today.  I also accented behind the clock to carry over the decor to the wall.

I finally put the Hostess Level 1 Decor Elements on my 2 canisters that I use for my flour and sugar.  It is very, very easy to apply them and I am glad that I finally put them on!

Medallion Birthday Card

This is a card that I made for this week's LNS Challenge.  Patty Bennett (http://www.pattystamps.com/) came up with the great idea to make a border using the Medallion punch - so I thought I would give it a try!  I stamped the image three times on a strip of Whisper White c/s.  Then I used the SAB Scallop Trim Border Punch along the bottom.  I ran it through my crimper 4 times to make the paper more pliable.  I then feathered the edges with Chocolate Chip, feathered the edges with a VersaMark inkpad, and then added some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Since the strip is bulky, I attached it to the back of the Whisper White card stock using some sticky tape.

I also used the kissing technique for this card.  I inked up the Medallion stamp with Brocade Blue and inked up the Woodgrain Background stamp with Chocolate Chip, and then "kissed" the stamps together.  That's how I made the lines that you see on the Medallion image that was punched using out the scallop punch.  Here's a list of what I used:

LNS Challenge

This is a card that I made for this week's LNS Challenge.  The challenge was to use the designer paper as the main focus of the card, and this is what I came up with.  I designed and did this card in under 10 minutes!  Here's the details:

Zindorf Card

I saw a beautiful card on the incredibly talented Michelle Zindorf's blog (http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2010/02/17/warm-in-the-field-tutorial-307/) and thought I would try to make my own version of it.  I didn't use a brayer, but instead used sponges to add the color.  Michelle's card base is larger than the typical 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card, so I adapted my card to fit on a regular card.  Here's what I used to make the card:

Rag Purse

Here it is - my first rag purse, and was it fun and super easy to make!!!  The squares were all done using my Big Shot and the SU! Square Die.  Next I layered a piece of 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" batting in between the squares and sewed them together.  I picked up some precut quilt fabric at Joanne's, but I think for the next purse I will take a little bit more time and pick out the fabric from a bolt.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card from Kim

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I have been having problems with my router and my internet has been down off/on.  My nephew came over the other day and was able to fix it.  The kids were going crazy because they couldn't get on the internet or play xBox live...........I wonder how they would of survived back in the day when I was a teen and all you had was TV!  Anyway, I received this lovely card from my dear friend, Kim.  Sunday (Valentine's Day) was the 4th anniversary date of my mom's passing and Kim sent me this card to let me know she was thinking of me.  Thanks Kim - you are one talented stamper my dear!!

On another stamping note, Ben was off of school yesterday and him and I ran some errands (every teenage boy's dream!).  I bought some quilting material at Joanne's, and should get my square die today from Stampin' Up!  I can't wait to make a rag purse and will post it when I get it finished!  Have a great day everyone!

Butterfly Resist Card

This is another card I made for the LNS Butterfly challenge for this week. I embossed the image from Upsy Daisy using a VersaMark pad and white embossing powder. Next I sponged Orchid Opulence, a little bit of Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry over the embossed image. I found some scrap pieces from the designer paper, Cottage Wall, that fit into the Beautiful Wings embosslit die, and used them to make the butterflies. Did some paper piercing at the corners, and created a border using the SAB Scallop Trim Border Punch and the Cottage Wall dp. The piece of cardstock that is in back of the punched out saying was made using a piece of scrap Rich Razzleberry and the Matchbox Bigz xl Die. Here's the recipe:

SCS/LNS Challenge Card

The LNS challenge for this week is to create a card using butterflies. Yesterday's SCS challenge was to use the colors Going Gray, Bravo Burgundy and Crushed Curry. You needed to use the colors Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Blush Blossom in your card. I used the retired ornament punch from the winter mini to make the the vase, and then ran it through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. This weeks LNS challenge is to make a vintage style card, and I think the Vintage Vogue stamp set from the Occasions mini is a great set to use for this challenge! This is a quick card I came up with. I used a note card for the focal point and trimmed it down a tad. I used the new SAB Scallop Trim Border Punch for the border at the bottom.
