Thank you for stopping by my castle!

I had the honor of being a part of a blog hop that featured 75 castles.  There were some incredible projects posted!!  Below are the projects that I made for the tour, and I used the background stamp, Medallion (page 133 in the catalog).

My first card on the tour was made using the resist embossing technique.  I embossed the image on a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" whisper white card stock using white embossing powder.  I then blended a mix of Apricot Appeal, Really Rust and Pumpkin Pie inks over the embossed image using sponges.  I think this gives the image a very soft look.  Here's the details on what I used:

Stamp Set: Medallion, Thoughts & Prayers (saying)
Inks: Apricot Appeal, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie
Papers: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie Brads, Pumpkin Pie Ribbon, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Vanilla Hardware, Designer Label Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Sponge, Dimensionals

Post It Note Holder: This is a post-it-note holder that I made using coasters.  The coasters are 4" x 4" and I layerd a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock over each one.  I inked up the Medallion stamp using Crushed Curry and then sponged some Chocolate Chip directly on the stamp.  I did this 3 times and punched out the center image using the Scallop Circle Punch.  I inked up the leaves from the Vintage Vogue stamp using Crushed Curry, stamped off on a piece of scrap paper and then lightly stamped the edges.  Then I attached a piece of 1-1/4" Chocolate Chip Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a piece of natural hemp around the edges.

Stamps Sets: Medallion, Vintage Vogue, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Inks: Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip
Papers: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Pearls from Pretties Kit, Scallop Circle Punch, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Natural Hemp, Dimensionals, Coasters, Post-it-Note, Sponges

I did something a little different with this card.  I inked up half of the Medallion stamp with Pretty in Pink and the other half with Close to Cocoa and stamped it 3 times on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I punched out the center again on one of the images using the Scallop Circle Punch and then punched out one of the other images using one of the flowers from the Boho Blossoms Punch.  I used the Scallop Trim Corner Punch on all 4 corners and then layered on a piece of Chocolate Chip/Whisper White and then Pretty in Pink.  Added a Jumbo Eyelet at the bottom at the bottom left-hand corner for contrast and added a piece of the awesome Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon.

Stamps: Medallion, Itty Bitty Background
Inks: Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink
Papers: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Pewter Jumbo Eyelet, Chocolate Chip 5/16" Jumbo Brad, Sponges, Scissors, Dimensionals

This card is a little bit different style that I use, but I the idea was in my mind and I thought I would see how it would come out - what do you think?  It's very bright, that's for sure!  I used the Top Note Die to cut out a piece Melon Mambo card stock and cut it down to fit the card.  I stamped the Medallion stamp on white card stock and then mounted it under the Melon Mambo card stock.  The bottom border is a scrap piece of Razzleberry Lemonade DP.  Have a great day; here's the details:

Stamps: Medallion, Upsy Daisy (saying)
Inks: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo
Papers: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Razzleberry Lemonade DP
Accessories: Crushed Curry Ribbon, Melon Mambo Ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Top Note Die, Big Shot, Mini-Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Scissors, Sewing Machine, Thread

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you've enjoyed your visit to my Castle!

I was honored to be nominated for the Fremont P.T.O. Excellence in Volunteering Award, and the award ceremony was held at the Middle School this evening.  Tami (right next to me) our P.T.O. President, won the award.  She has been an amazing President these past years and I have had the privilege of serving along side some outstanding P.T.O. volunteers!

LNS Sympathy Challenge

Guess what?!  I won this week's design challenge!
Happy Easter everyone!  I am celebrating the incredible gift of salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus with my family today, and am so thankful for all He has done in my life!

This is also Chelsie's last day of spring break and Ben heads back to school on Tuesday.  We had a busy week and I am looking forward to one more day off before I head back to work on Tuesday.

This is another card I made for this week's LNS card challenge.  The challenge I had with making this card is that I ran out of adhesive!  I dug around and found some removal adhesive, and took the picture before the card fell apart!  Enjoy your day - here's the details:

Inks/Markers: Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, So Saffron

LNS Challenge

I am taking advantage of being on spring break and have been working on my samples for the upcoming Royal Blog Tour!  I wish I could show them to you, but I can't - be sure to check my blog at the end of the April!  I also did this card for this week's LNS challenge.  The focus is on sympathy cards, and this is what I came up with.  I went with more masculine colors for this challenge because I think sympathy tend to focus on flowers, etc. and are more feminine.  Not a lot of guy cards out there.......  Anyway, here's the recipe:

Stamp Sets: Thoughts and Prayers, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Inks: Close to Cocoa, Brocade Blue
Papers: Whisper White,Close to Cocoa, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Folder, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Photo Corners Punch, Designer Label Punch, Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Vanilla Hardware, Sponge, Paper Piercing Tool, Adhesive
