LNS Challenge

Ready for a celebration challenge?  If so, you'll love this week's LNS challenge - which is to show your party projects - birthday cards, invites, banners, etc.!

Once you have created your project, you can simply load it on the LNS blog - which you can find: HERE

For my project, I went with a CAS guy birthday card, and it was pretty easy to create.  I created a mask for the sun by punching a hole in a post-it-note by using a 1-1/4" circle punch.  I then sponged in some Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie ink in the circle created by the punch, and then stamped the tree image after removing the post-it-note.  Added a button, distressed and sponged the edges, added some baker's twine, and there you have it!  Here's a list of what I used:

I decided to use the new hostess set, Simply Sketched for my challenge card, and made my card for my Father-in-Law.  I stamped the bird image twice on Whisper White c/s using a black StazOn inkpad.  I colored in just the grass on one piece of WW and then cut it out using one of the Windows Frame Framelits.  I colored and cut out the bird image and mounted it over the other image using a dimensional.  I pulled out my trusty Singer sewing machine and sewed a random pattern along the left-hand edge.  Here's a list of what I used:

Monday's Technostamper Lunch Challenge!

It's Monday and spring break, and it's lightly snowing!  Spring still hasn't come to the Chicago land area yet, and I can't wait for it start warming up!

We have another fun Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge for you!  You can find the sketch below.  When you are finished crafting your work of art, you can download it HERE

I have two card views for this challenge.  After I created my first card (bottom card), I felt it was too plain and needed a little something extra.  I used the Bitty Butterfly Punch from the current Occasions Catalog to punch out 3 butterflies from the Tea for Two DSP (also from the Occasions Catalog).

Inks: Calypso Coral
Papers: Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Early Espresso, Tea for Two DSP

Combo Challenge Post

Good morning everyone!  I have a combined challenge post using the same stamp set for you this Monday morning......Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Challenge and this week's Late Night Stamper Challenge.  This week's LNS challenge is to use your favorite SAB set.  For me it's the stamp set, Feeling Sentimental.  It's definitely a set I will keep for years to come, and feel it's a great set to use for guy cards.

First Up - The Technostamper Challenge Card

Here is the sketch, and you can click HERE to play along:

For my card, I stamped the phone booth image 3 times, twice using Calypso Coral ink and once using Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla c/s.  For the Calypso Coral images, I cut just the doors out on one image and then the whole phone image on the other.  I then layered the phone booth and then the doors over the early Espresso image, and used my Early Espresso inkpad to swipe the edges of the cut out pieces.  I used a piece of Tea for Two DSP for the background, and wanted to grunge it up a bit.  I crumpled up the DSP and then swiped the Early Espresso inkpad over it.  I think it gives it an interesting effect to the paper.  I then added some Very Vanilla Brads and Early Espresso ribbon, and a saying from the set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Here's the rest of the details:

Stamps: SAB Feeling Sentimental, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Calypso Coral, Early Espresso
Papers: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Tea for Two DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Apothecary Accent Dies, Bitty Banner Framelits, Very Vanilla Brads, Early Espresso Ribbon, Sponges, Scissors, Dimensionals

Late Night Stamper Challenge - Saying Goodbye to SAB!

It's hard to believe that this is the last week for this year's SAB - another great selection of FREE stamps and embellishments!  You can download your project HERE.

Once again I went with my favorite set, Feeling Sentimental, for my challenge card.  I love how you can create motion with the bike image, and thought I would go with this look again for my card.  I used the Stamp-a-ma-Jig to help place the bike.  I inked the image up with Soft Suede ink and then just kept stamping the image until the image was very faint.  I then used the Honeycomb EF on only half of the Very Vanilla c/s and then added a strip of First Edition DSP for the background.  I used distressing tool on the edges and then swiped the edges with the Soft Suede inkpad.  Here's more of the details:

Stamps: Feeling Sentimental SAB, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Soft Suede
Papers: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, First Edition DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot, Honeycomb EF, Bitty Banner Framelits, 1-3/8" Square Punch, Soft Suede Brads and Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Distressing Tool, Paper Piercing Tool, Dimensionals

Combo Challenge Card

I made a card that is actually for two challenges: the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge, and the Late Night Stampers challenge.  The Monday Lunchtime Sketch is shown below, and this week's LNS challenge is to incorporate green in your card in honor of St. Pat's Day coming  up.

To add your work of art to the Late Night Stamper Blog, click: HERE

For my card, I used the beautiful Tea for Two DSP paired with the stamp set, Hearts a Flutter - both are from the current spring catalog.  I stamped one of the images (sorry, not sure what the name of the image is) from the Hearts a Flutter set in both Calypso Corral and Lucky Limeade.  I then used the Bitty Butterfly punch, from the spring catalog, to create the butterflies along the edge.  I did a zig-zag stitch using my trusty old Singer (that I bought back in 1979) along the edges of the DSP and the Calypso Corral c/s, and across the butterflies.  Added some pearls, a saying (that was cut out using the Bitty Banners Framelit), ribbon and a few other goodies as well!  Here's the rest of the details:

Stamps: Hearts a Flutter, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Calypso Corral, Lucky Limeade
Papers:  Whisper White, Calypso Corral, Lucky Limeade, Tea for Two DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Apothecary Accents Die, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Perfect Polka Dot EF, Tea Lace Paper Dollies, Calypso Corral Ribbon, Lucky Limeade Ribbon, Pearls, Sewing Machine/Thread, Dimensionals

For my card, I once again reached for my favorite SAB set, Feeling Sentimental.  I think this has to be my absolute favorite SAB set yet, and love the vintage look you can get with this versatile set.  I stamped the image of the bicycle 5 times on a piece of Very Vanilla c/s using a Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to help me with placement.  I then used the edge of the Soft Suede inkpad to feather the cardstock and DSP.  Here's a list of what I used and my card:

Inks: Soft Suede, Marina Mist
Papers: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Beau Chateau DSP

Stamp Camp Card

I am going to have some creative stampers over on Sunday to do a little stamping, and below is one of the cards I have planned for us to do.  My inspiration for this card is one that I saw on both PI and SCS that C. Weeks did, and you can see her beautiful creation using this SCS LINK.

I have to admit that I love how this card turned out - I had one heck of a time taking a picture of it due to the wind, but finally got a decent picture after several tries!

The images were stamped on a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla c/s that I tore at the bottom.  I used some retired DSP that I thought worked well for a background, and then added a saying attached with a safety pin from the Vintage Trinkets collection.  Here's the rest of the details:

Stamps: French Foliage, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, VersaMark IP
Papers: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Botanical Gazette DSP (retired)
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Distressing Tool, Vintage Trinkets, Regal Button, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool. Sponge, Dimensionals
