Another Punch Purse

This is the same card that I did yesterday, but I added flowers from the Three For You Punch Box (page 181). I think this adds a more finished touch to the card, don't you?

Purse Punch Card

I signed up to do a swap that required using punches and coming up with an "out of the box" design. I have seen several samples on SCS where a purse was created by using 1/2 of the round tab punch. I loved the look, so I thought I would give it a try! The handle was done by first by punching out 1/2 of a small oval, and then I inserted the large oval punch to create a handle. I used the horizontal slot punch at the top left and fastened with a brad (see close up picture). Sorry if the images are a little blurry. I am having problems with my camera taking close ups; guess I should read the manual!! Anyway, if you want to find out more about using punches on cards, I would love to have you come to my stamp camp on July 18th! Here's the details:

Stamps: Small Script
Inks: Rose Red
Paper: Cutie Pie DP, Bashful Blue, Rose Red, So Saffron, Whisper White
Accessories: Brads, Horizontal Slot Punch, Tab Punch, Small & Large Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Bashful Blue Ribbon, Sewing Machine & Thread, Paper Piercing Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

Heartfeld Inchie Card

This is an "inchie" card that I made the other day using the Heartfelt Thanks set. These little inchies are addicting! I am also in an "inchie" swap, and need to just make 11 and then I'll send them off to the hostess! I used one of the flower from the Little Bit of Happiness hostess level 1 set. I watercolored it in, set a brad and I'm done! Hope you're enjoying the day - thanks for stopping by! I'm off to make more "inchies".....

Fun & Fast Notes

I totally forgot that I signed up for a swap called Wonderous One Color on VC Rocks - actually, I signed up for 3 swaps and they are all due July 8th! This is the design I came up with for the swap. You had to use one color, but could use different shades of that color. I chose Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink. I don't know if you can tell this from the picture, but I used Crystal Effects on the cake and used a White Craft pad and one of the background stamps from Boho Backgrounds on the Regal Rose Ribbon. I am off to pick up Ben from acting class; here's the recipe:

Stamps: Fun & Fast Notes, Boho Backgrounds
Inks: White Craft Pad, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black
Paper: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Regal Rose Brads & Ribbon, Paper Piercing Tool, Watercolor Brush, Crystal Effects, Photo Punch, Sewing Machine, Mini-Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Tart & Tangy Die-Cut Box

I found some die-cut boxes yesterday and thought I would make try to see what I could come up with using the Tart & Tangy set. I stamped the oranges using an Only Orange inkpad, punched them out using a 1 1/4" punch and then cut them in half. And then I punched out Only Orange circles using a 1 3/8" punch. Cut them in half and mounted the 1/2 orange on them, and then put a silver brad in the middle. Thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you at my upcoming stamp camp! Here's what I used:

Stamp Set: Tart & Tangy, Cute Converse
Inks: Only Orange
Paper: Whisper White, Only Orange, Bashful Blue, Summer Picnic DP
Accessories: White Glossy Die-Cut Box, Only Orange and Bashful Blue Ribbon, Silver Brads, Paper Piercing Tool, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Word Window Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Stamp Camp Project

Chelsie has been running a fever, so her and I stayed home while Richard and Ben went to his father's for Father's Day. I thought I would take advantage of the opportunity and plan one of the projects for my upcoming stamp camp on the 27th. This was very fun to make! I found this wonderful tutorial on Dannie Grave's blog to make this card holder, and thought I would give it a try.

I am not going to give away the details - you'll have to come to my camp and make it for yourself!!! Very fun, very easy!!!

This stamp set she used is called Blossom Abound, and Collette used a combination of Bliss Blue, Brocade Blue & Brilliant Blue. Check out Collette's SCS gallery; which I have listed under blogs I like to visit - she is a very talented stamper! Thanks for the awesome card Collette - all I can say is WOW!!!

Tart & Tany Popsicle Card

I have been seeing samples of popsicle cards "pop" up on SCS and thought I would try to make one. I started with a piece of 6 x 3 1/2" cardstock and folded it in half. Then I used my scallop punch in the corner to make it look like someone had taken a bite out of the corner. I colored in the strawberry with a Real Red, Glorious Green and Chocolate Chip Marker. I used the slit punch on the inside to slide the popsicle stick through. After I made the card, I applied some Crystal Effects where the chocolate chip was on the bottom of the strawberry. I found the sample I cased on Lynn's blog - learn to stamp and scrap with Lynn. For some reason I can't link this on blogspot right now - I'll have to try again later.

Here's what I used:

Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Viola
Inks: White Craft Pad, Markers: Glorious Green, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Glorious Green, Real Red, Whisper White
Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch, Slit Punch, Scallop Punch, White AquaGel Pen, Stamp-a-ma-Jig, Popsicle Stick

Sketch Challenge

I used a stamp I picked up today from Hobby Lobby for the sketch challenge on SCS. I have to admit I feel a little guilty not using a SU stamp! But the monkeys were so cute - I couldn't resist! I stamped the frame twice to pop it out a bit. Hope you're enjoying the great weather we're having!

Stamp Set: Changito Rubber Stamps, Swirls Background
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White
Inks: Basic Black, Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa

One of Kind Card

This is my card for today's color challenge on SCS. The challenge was to make a card using the primary colors of So Saffron, Real Red and Regal Rose. I decided to sew the edges with my sewing machine. The first time I used it, it ripped the paper and I had to throw the c/s out. On the second try it started acting weird again when I got to the bottom. I have had my machine for 30 years now, and love it - hope it's not ready to retire on me....Anyway, here's the details:

Stamp Sets: Zoofari, Mixed Greetings
Inks: Basic Black, So Saffron, Real Red, Regal Rose
Papers: So Saffron, Real Red, Regal Rose, So Saffron Prints Pack (hostess level 1)
Accessories: So Saffron Brads, Paper Piercer, Watercolor Brush, Red Gingham Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Stampin' Dimensionals

Tart & Tangy Water Bottle

Sorry I haven't posted any Tart & Tangy samples yet. Our pool is open and the flowers on the trees above the pool are dropping like crazy - it looks like it's been snowing in the pool! So I am out cleaning it every hour! Since it's raining out, I thought I would take the opportunity to stamp! I saw a sample of a water bottle on SCS using Tart & Tangy set, and thought I would give it a try. I had to goof around the with measurements since I didn't have a template, but it was pretty easy to figure out.

Stamp Set: Tart & Tangy
Paper: Only Orange, Summer Picnic DP, Bashful Blue
Inks: Only Orange
Accessories: Scallop Punch, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Gold Brads, Paper Piercing Tool, Crystal Effects

The pool is "officially" open - come on over!!!

VC Rocks No Layer Challenge

Today's challenge on VC Rocks was to make a card without any layers. I love to layer my cards, so this was an interesting challenge. I inked up the image with my Pixie Pink and Certainly Celery and then outlined with Pink Passion and Green Galore before stamping. I watercolored the background with Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. The blue is a little heavy in places, but I think it turned out ok. Now that our pool is officially open, I hope I can get some stamping in! Thanks for looking. Eileen

Stamp Set: Close as a Memory
Inks: Pixie Pink, Pink Passion, Certainly Celery, Green Galore, Bashful Blue
Paper: Whisper White
Accessories: Paper Piercer, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Bashful Blue Brads, Gold Cording, Watercolor Brush
