Try Stampin' on Tuesday

We have a really fun challenge for you today over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday!  You can find the sketch below, and when you are done creating your work of art, you can simply load it HERE!

I did the direct to paper technique for my card.  I swiped So Saffron across the top of the Very Vanilla c/s and then Pistachio Pudding across the bottom.  I inked just the grass on the bottom of the bird image from the set, Simply Sketched, using an Early Espresso marker, and stamped it across the card.  I then sponged some Early Espresso across the bottom.  I colored in the bird image (stamped separately on a scrap piece of paper) with Island Indigo and So Saffron before cutting it out and mounting it on the card front.  Here's a list of what I used:

Stamps: Simply Sketched
Inks: Early Espresso, Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron, Island Indigo
Papers: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Pistachio Pudding, Soho Subway DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Modern Mosaic EF, Bitty Banner Framelits, Barely Banana Brads, Paper Piercing Tool, Dimensionals, Sponge

LNS Challenge

Ready for a celebration challenge?  If so, you'll love this week's LNS challenge - which is to show your party projects - birthday cards, invites, banners, etc.!

Once you have created your project, you can simply load it on the LNS blog - which you can find: HERE

For my project, I went with a CAS guy birthday card, and it was pretty easy to create.  I created a mask for the sun by punching a hole in a post-it-note by using a 1-1/4" circle punch.  I then sponged in some Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie ink in the circle created by the punch, and then stamped the tree image after removing the post-it-note.  Added a button, distressed and sponged the edges, added some baker's twine, and there you have it!  Here's a list of what I used:

Stamps: Serene Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Soft Suede
Papers: Soft Suede, Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Accessories: Distressing Tool, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Neutral Button, Sponge, Post-it-Note,
Dimensionals

Ok, I know it's Wednesday and I am a day behind in posting my challenge card to my blog.  I thought summer was when things slowed down......but it doesn't for me because it's the start of football season!!

I stamped the flower image from the set, Blooming with Kindness, with Early Espresso ink and then die cut the image using an Apothecary Accent Die.  I then used the Essentials paper piercing template to outline the die cut.  I then feathered the edges with Crumb Cake ink and sponge.  I accented the bottom of the Early Espresso c/s using another paper piercing template, and added some pearls and bow.  Here's the rest of the details:

I did a CAS for my card today and once again used my favorite (for now!) set, Simply Sketched.  I thought I would combine 2 of the new In-Colors, Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar for my card.  I like the softness of the look these colors together think Baked Brown Sugar is a great accent/layering color!

Here's a list of what I used.  Sorry for the quick post, I'm am taking Ben to the doctor in a bit to get his knee looked at and (as usual) am running behind; have a great day everyone!

Techno Monday Sketch

Another fun challenge over at Technostamper Monday Lunch Challenge!  Here's the sketch, and here is the link to load your awesome card: Techno Stamper Blog

I absolutely LOVE the cards that Lyssa created using the new hostess set, Simply Sketched, and cased one of her cards for my take on the challenge; you can see her awesome cards HERE.  She is so creative!!

Below is my cased card and I changed up my interpretation of the sketch just a little bit.  I colored in just the grass on the stamp using a Early Espresso marker and stamped it a couple of times and then stamped the entire bird image (twice) using an Early Espresso inkpad.  I colored in the grass and the bird image using a blender pen and the new ink color, Baked Brown Sugar (don't you just love that name?!).  Before I mounted the cut out bird image, I crinkled up the stamped c/s, distressed the edges and then lightly sponged Baked Brown Sugar around the edges and around the grass.

So this is my cased card for this week's sketch, and below is a list of what I used to create the card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Simply Sketched
Inks: Basic Black, Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar
Papers: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar
Accessories:  Big Shot, Woodgrain EF, Vintage Brad, Early Espresso Brad, Distressing Tool, Blender Pen, SAMJ, Sponge, Dimensionals

Try Stampin' on Tuesday/LNS Challenge

Father's Day is fast approaching, and this week's LNS challenge is to create a Father's Day card.  I thought this would a great opportunity to combine the LNS challenge with today's Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge.

Below you'll find the sketch for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday, and when you are finished with your Father's Day card, you can load it:

I decided to use the new hostess set, Simply Sketched for my challenge card, and made my card for my Father-in-Law.  I stamped the bird image twice on Whisper White c/s using a black StazOn inkpad.  I colored in just the grass on one piece of WW and then cut it out using one of the Windows Frame Framelits.  I colored and cut out the bird image and mounted it over the other image using a dimensional.  I pulled out my trusty Singer sewing machine and sewed a random pattern along the left-hand edge.  Here's a list of what I used:

Stamps: Simply Sketched, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Old Olive, Pacific Point, So Saffron
Papers: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Old Olive, So Saffron DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Windows Frame Framelits, Old Olive Button, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Word Window Punch, Blender Pen, Dimensionals, Sewing Machine/Thread
