Holiday Collage

I am participating in another craft fair tomorrow at Mundelein High School and decided to try to make another collage to sell.  I found an already cut out matte in my craft closet and though it would be fun to try to "dress it up".  I apologize for the dark picture, I usually take my pictures outside but with all the snow on the deck, that won't happen until spring. What do you think?

Stamps: A Banner Christmas, Snow Day
Inks: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Papers: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Season of Style DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper

Techno Stamper Lunchtime Challenge

Happy snowy Monday to everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend, and are ready to take on another fun sketch challenge over at the Techno Stamper Blog!  You can find the sketch below, and you can load your wonderful creation HERE!

And here is my card......the nose was the last thing that I stamped on the snow man.  And won't you know it, I accidentally caught the side of the rubber when I was stamping the nose.  I am too much of a perfectionist!  Moving on........

I found an easy way to attach the sayings when using the thinlit dies is to use the Big Shot Adhesive Sheets.  The adhesive grips pretty firmly and it's easy than trying to use mini-glue dots.  Here's a list of what I used:

Stamps: Snow Day, Gorgeous Grunge
Inks: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Midnight Muse, Pumpkin Pie
Papers: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Season of Style DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Expressions Thinlits Die, Deco Labels Framelits, Stylish Stripes EF, Holiday Collection Die, Small Star Punch, Mini-Jingle Bell, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Adhesive Paper, Dimensionals, Mini-Glue Dots, SAMJ

This is my first collage, and I have to say that I love how it turned out!  It is my raffle item for the Holiday Boutique I am participating in this Saturday at the Fremont Intermediate School.

The hardest part was figuring out the layout, and it took me 3 days to put it together, and now that I have a design established I will making more!  Each square is 2-1/4", and I used an 8"x10" frame.  This isn't the best picture since once again the sun is MIA here!

Papers: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Basic Black, Red/Silver Glimmer Paper, Season of Style DSP

I went with a clean, CAS look for my challenge card, and I used the retired Snow Flurry Die for the made image.  After I took the picture, I decided to try added a little bit of embossing at the bottom using the Needlepoint Border EF, and I will take another pic and load it when I get home from work later on this afternoon.

Treat Box and Gift Card Holder

I saw a very cute treat box on PI by a SU! in the UK named Sam.  She has some wonderful tutorials using the new SU! Envelope Punch Board on her blog, and you can find the tutorials on YouTube HERE.  I don't know about you, but I think the envelope punch board is an amazingly fun new product, and the possibilities are endless!

And here are the treat boxes I made.  I tucked a packet of hot chocolate mix and a candy cane in each box, and I think they turned out really cute!

Gift Card Holders:

I also made this really cute gift card holder using the envelope punch board, and the scallop envelope die.   The dimensions for the bow are: (1) 1" x 6", punched both sides at 3" and corner round the edges, (1) 1" x 5", punched both sides at at 2-1/2" and corner round the edges, bottom strip 1" x 3-1/2" and punched both sides at 1-3/4".

I found an excellent video on YouTube made by Bona that shows you more detail, and you can see it HERE.

I came across a penguin ornament on PI that was made by the very talented Patty Bennett, and thought the little guy would look cute as the main image for today's challenge.  You can see the penguin that cased on Patty's blog, and you can find it HERE.

The penguin was made with just a few punches: Large and medium oval, 1" Circle, Word Window, and I used the Petite Pennants Builder Punch for the nose.  I used one of the Hearts a Flutter dies to make the hat.  Here's a list of what I used:

Gift Box

I have been seeing a lot of cute cards and bags with elf shoes and thought I would give it a try as well!  They are so simple to make and I love how this box turned out!  I found a fun tutorial on Julie Cluff's blog that shows how to create these fun little shoes, and you can find the link HERE.

I used the Top Note Die to create the shoes, and cut the c/s in fourths.  The strip for the stockings are 3/4", and I used the 1-3/8" Circle Punch instead of the Ornament Punch. Here's the details........

Thanksgiving Candle

I made the Thanksgiving candle below, and it was pretty easy to make!  I punched out 3 ovals using a large Oval Punch and Pumpkin Spice cardstock.  I then ran the pieces through my Big Shot using the Woodgrain EF, and then brushed the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.  The leaves were punched out using the Bird Punch and Gumball Green cardstock.  The stem was punched using the Word Window Punch; I cut the end on a slant and then feathered the edges with Early Espresso ink.  I wrapped some twine around the candle, and attached the pumpkin with Dimensionals.

Monday Lunchtime Challenge/LNS Challenge

I have 2 challenges for this post this morning.  The first challenge is this week's Monday Lunchtime Techno Stamper Challenge, and below is this week's sketch.  When you are finished with your card, you can load it HERE.

I used the stamp set, Secret Garden, for my card and paired with it Venetian Romance DSP.  I used the Expressions Thinlits Dies for the "love" expressions, and find that layering a piece of wax paper first between the c/s and die helps to get the c/s out of the die.  Below is a list of what I used.

Stamps: Secret Garden
Inks: Tangerine Tango, Soft Suede
Papers: Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango, Pistachio Pudding, Soft Suede, Venetian Romance DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Expressions Thinlits Die, Secret Gardens Framelits, Bird Punch, Pearls, Distressing Tool, Mini-Glue Dots, Dimensionals

LNS Challenge

We have a fun 2-week challenge for you over at the LNS blog.  The theme for this challenge is "Fall into Fall", and nothing says fall like pumpkins!  The pumpkin I created is actually a case from one I saw on Julie Davidson's blog.  Julie has a great tutorial as well as to how she created her pumpkin, and you can find the link to her blog HERE.

When you are finished with your fall creation, you can simply load it HERE

And here is my pumpkin......

Techno Stamper Monday Lunchtime Challenge

We have a really great challenge for you over at the Techno Stamper Lunchtime Challenge blog!  You can find the sketch below and you can load your work of art HERE!

I used the very cool Epic Day This and That DSP for my background, and then added the bird image using the Hostess Set, Simply Sketched.  The "love" saying is one of 3 new dies from the current Holiday Catalog.  I found out the secret to getting the thin lettering out of the die is to add wax paper in-between the die and c/s.  It came right out with no problems!

Stamps: Simply Sketched
Inks: Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Crumb Cake, Black StazOn
Papers: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Epic Day This and That DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Window Frames Framelits, Expressions Thinlits Dies, Apothecary Accent Dies, Daffodil Delight Brads, Watercolor Brush, Sponge, Dimensionals, Paper Piercing Tool, Mini-Glue Dots
