Fun on a Sunday Afternoon

Two of my favorite stamping friends, Collette and Kim, came over yesterday and we spent the afternoon stamping in my craft room.  They each brought a project for us to do and below is a picture of them.  I think both cards are beautiful and it was fun to create, laugh, and get the creative juices going!  Kim and Collette are very talented stampers, and here are their blogs if you want to check them out:  Collette's blog (click here), and for Kim's blog (click here).

SCS Challenge Card

I made the following card for today's SCS Featured Stamper Challenge, and one last card the LNS challenge this week.  I used the Frame, Oval Scallop Die for the main focal point of the card - stamping the flowers on the oval and cut another piece in Cherry Cobbler for the frame.  I used the Beautiful Wings embosslit die for the butterflies.  Made a bow using Old Olive satin ribbon and there you have it!  Here's the details:

Stamps: Fast & Fabulous (hostess set)
Inks: Regal Rose, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Basic Black
Papers: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Finial Press Embossing Folder, Frame, Oval Scallop Die, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Watercolor Brush, Dimensionals, Mini-Glue Dots, Scissors

Charming Card with Windowpane

It's kind of a lazy Saturday here, so I thought I would try to make one more LNS challenge card.  I was messing around with how to make an inside panel using the Framed Tulips embossing folder.  Sharon Field has a great tutorial on her blog (Click Here) on how to use the folder with different sized card stock.  I think the tricky part is setting the windowpane.  I find that once I get it lined up, that's the time to "strategically" tuck and hide mini-glue dots underneath the windowpane.  I stamped the flower image on a piece of white c/s and then used the Scallop Rectangle Clearlit to cut it out.  It's hard to tell, but I cut out the butterfly and secured it on top of the windowpane with a mini-glue dot.  Have a good weekend everyone; I'm going to go relax and read a book on my Kindle...........
Stamps: Charming
Inks: Early Espresso
Markers: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Papers: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Rectangle Clearlits, Framed Tulip EF, Antique Brad, CAD, Beveled Windowpane, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, Sponge, Scissors, Mini-Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Another LNS Challenge Card

This week's LNS challenge was to make a project using your Big Shot.  I have to admit, that I LOVE my Big Shot and use it in some way for every project I do.  For this card, I ran a white piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" through the Framed Tulips embossing folder.  I then put another piece of white card through that measured 4" x 3".  I only embossed the top and sides of the 4" edge with the tulips embossing folder.  For the ribbon along the bottom, I found that a long piece of sticky tape worked best to keep it secure.  Here's a list of what I used and the pic:

Stamps: SAB Bliss Set
Inks: Early Espresso
Papers: Whisper White, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Big Shot, Framed Tulips EF, Antique and Glimmer Brads, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Sticky Tape, Sponge, Paper Piercing Tool

Charming LNS/SCS Challenge

I had a design for this card in my mind for awhile and thought I would use it for the LNS (make a project using the Big Shot), and SCS Clean and Simple challenge for today.  Well what I had in mind and how the card turned out turned out to be 2 different things!  I played around with the beveled windowpanes from the Occasions Mini and ended up securing it with mini-glue dots where the Cherry Cobbler ribbon was threaded through.  I like the look, but need to play around with the other sizes.  I dyed one of the Vanilla Rosette flowers using my Aqua Painter and a drop of Cherry Cobbler reinker that I placed on the top of a stamp case.  Here's a list of supplies:

Stamps: Charming
Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Papers: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Distressing Tool, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, Large Beveled Windowpane, Aqua Painter, Large Rosette Flower, Mini-Glue Dots, Dimensionals

LNS & PPA Challenge

This week's LNS challenge is to make a masculine card.  I haven't had a ton of time to stamp this week and finally got some time today (in between doing laundry).  Pals Paper Arts (blog link) also has a layout challenge, so I thought I would use this card for both challenges.  The card was pretty simple to make and I think makes a nice birthday card for a teenage boy.  I apologize for the darkness of the pictures; with it being so dark and rainy outside I didn't have the best lighting.  Here's the details:

Stamps: Extreme Elements, Extreme Skateboard, SAB So Happy for You
Inks: Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Garden Green
Papers: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Garden Green
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Bright Brads, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Sponge

RAK

When I was taking customer orders around the other day, I got this sweet card from my dear stamping friend, Kim.  Isn't it a beauty?!  Kim actually started her own stamping blog, and you can find it HERE.  It was the 5 year anniversary of my mom's passing on Valentine's Day and Kim made this card for me.  You're such a sweetie Kim; thanks for making my day brighter - love you!

Valentine's Day Card

I made the following Valentine's day card for my husband Richard.  I didn't think he would like a card with ribbons and "fluff", so I came up with this simple card.  The picture quality isn't the best and doesn't show off the beautiful glimmer of the Red Glitter paper; which totally rocks!  Hope he likes it!  Here's the details:

Stamps: Punch Bunch SAB, So Happy for You SAB (saying)
Inks: Early Espresso, Real Red
Papers: Whisper White, Real Red, Red Glimmer Paper (Occasions Mini)
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Small Oval Punch, Heart-to-Heart Punch, Bird Punch (branches), Owl Punch, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

SCS Challenge Card

It sure was nice having 2 days off of work because of the blizzard on Wednesday; which meant that I got to spend time stamping instead of standing outside freezing!!  This is a very quick card that I made for today's SCS challenge; which was to use a heart on your card.  Love the Red Glimmer Paper from the Occasions Mini; it's nice and thick and I love the shimmer it gives to projects!  So here it is - stay warm and have a good one!!

Stamps: So Happy for You
Inks: Real Red
Papers: Real Red, Whisper White, Red Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dot EF, Real Red Ribbon, Oval Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Dimensionals

Desk Calendar with Drawer

I saw an adorable easel calendar with a box on Connie Babbert's blog (Here), and wanted to try to make one using the set, Nature Walk, from the Occasions Mini.  Connie has a wonderful tutorial on her blog that gives great instructions on how to make this.  So what do you think?  I like how it turned out!  I used the same design as the easel calendars I posted a couple of days ago, so the supplies are all the same.  I like having a little drawer that I can tuck a post-it-note in and some stamping dimensionals.  Here's the pic:
