I am so glad you stopped by to take a peek at my blog! I have had "stampin' fever" for over 14 years now and have loved every minute of it! It's a wonderfully contagious disease, but beware... once you catch it, there is no cure!

Inspired by Nature Color Challenge
I had a few minutes to stamp today and thought I would give the SCS Color Challenge a try. The challenge was to make a card using the colors Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Really Rust. I sponged the colors on the big flower stamp and added a light color for the grass in Baja Breeze for the background. Here's the details:
Stamps Sets: Inspired by Nature, Fresh Cuts (saying)
Inks: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust
Papers: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Vintage Brads, Round Tab Punch, Chocoate Chip & Baja Breeze Ribbon, Sponge

Upsy Daisy Faux Metal Card Card
This card was made using the Faux Metal technique, and I am hoping to do use it at my upcoming stamp camp on October 24th. You start out by inking up your cardstock using a VersaMark inkpad. I then embossed Gold Glory embossing powder into the cardstock using a heat gun - I did this twice. Before I did the 3rd layer, I inked up the Upsy Daisy stamp with the VersaMark pad to have it ready to go to impress into the 3rd layer while it's still warm. It's very simple to do! Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Upsy Daisy
Inks: VersaMark
Papers: Brushed Gold, Whisper White, Retired Designer Paper
Accessories: Heat Gun, Gold Glory Embossing Powder, Large Oval Punch, Gold Ribbon, Gold Hinge & Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

Fabulous Flowers Card
I cased this card from one I saw on SCS that was done by Aly Schilling. I stamped the flower 3 times using a Baja Breeze inkpad and cut them all out and layered them over each other using stampin' dimensionals. I placed 3 Navy Brads in the middle of the flower and tied a piece of Baja Breeze ribbon on the card. I then embossed "Happy Birthday" using a VersaMark pad and white embossing powder. It's been a long time since I pulled out my heat gun and I wasn't sure if the powder was ok to use. But it worked and the card turned out ok!
Stamps: Fabulous Flowers
Inks: Baja Breeze, VersaMark pad
Papers: Urban Garden DP, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Not Quite Navy Brads, Paper Piercing Tool, Baja Breeze Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Stampin' Dimensionals, Scissors
Inspired by Nature
I was playing around with this set this evening while I was listening to the Cubs on the radio (so sad that they lost), and thought I would try the misting markers technique for this card. I used Really Rust on the top of the flower, Summer Sun for the base of the flower, and Old Olive for the leaves. I then inked up just one of the flowers and punched it out using the 1 1/4" circle punch and layered it over Summer Sun.
Stamp Sets: Inspired by Nature, Warmest Regards
Inks: Really Rust, Summer Sun, Old Olive
Papers: Old Olive, Summer Sun, Whisper White
Accessories: Circle Punches, Dark Green Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-Jig, Water Bottle

My Frankie Card
I have been seeing some really cute "Frankie Cards' on different blogs and wanted to try to make my own. Dawn Griffith has a bunch of samples listed on her blog: (http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stamping_thoughts/2008/08/halloween-is-in-the-air-today.html). Frankie is really easy to make. I used Lovely Lilac on his hair and just free-handed it. I used the large oval punch for his nose, the 1 3/8" circle punch for his eye lids and the white of his eyes. I used the 1" punch for the black part of the eyes, and the 1/4" punch for the dots on his eyes. The round tab punch was used to make the little things coming out of the neck. I used the thin tip of a Basic Black marker to make the lines on his face. Easy peasy! Give Frankie a try and send me a sample of your card and I'll put it on my blog!
Stamps: Happy Halloween saying
Inks: Basic Black marker, Kiwi Kiss inkpad (to feather the edges)
Papers: Kiwi Kiss, Lovely Lilac, Whisper White, Basic Black
Accessories: 1 3/8", 1" & 1/4" Circle Punches, Round Tab Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scissors, Adhesive

Coaster Caddy Holder
I saw an adorable coaster caddy holder on Becky Roberts website (http://inkingidaho.blogspot.com/2008/08/coaster-caddy.html), and thought it would be a fun project to try, and you know what - it was!! I used some old DP to cover 4" medium weight coasters, and then sanded the edges with a sanding block. I punched 4 holes on each side with a CAD. Per Becky's instructions on her blog, the best way to thread the ribbon through the holes is to lay the coasters next to each other, and I found this to work best. I used mini-glue dots to attach the bottom coaster to the sides, and then up an old glass in the middle to hold pens. I put a small piece of acetate (used for overheads) over Whisper White card and wrote "Have a great day" on it! Then put a post-it-note on another side. I have one side blank, and am still thinking about what to put on it. I think it turned out pretty cute! Thanks for stopping by - make it a great day!

Inspired by Nature
I took a break from working on the buzz book for school, and actually got a chance to stamp today! I just got this set, Inspired by Nature and love it! I colored in the base of the flower with a Summer Sun marker and the cone with Really Rust. I then used a sponge dauber and sponged Pumpkin Pie over the flower. I used a Certainly Celery Marker on the leaves and stems, and then outlined with an Old Olive marker. Here's the list of materials I used:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Itty Bitty Background
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Inks: Basic Black, Summer Sun (lightly stamped on the background with Itty Bitty Stamp, Pumpkin Pie (to feather the edges)
Markers: Summer Sun, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Certainly Celery

Can You Guess What This Is
Could anyone like to take a guess as to what this is? It's my cat Misty, sleeping inside a plastic container in my office. I was surfing SCS looking for ideas for some new sets I got. I looked over and she had crammed herself into this plastic container. Augh, the life of a cat!

Pun Fun Birthday Card
I made this card for Richard's nephew today. I cased this card off of one I had seen on SCS (by Kharma Girl). I watercolored the bird and then cut him out. Sometimes it's hard to figure out a card for a teenage boy! I might think it's a little corny, but hope he likes it anyway. Thanks for stopping by today; it felt good to take some time to stamp!
