More LNS Challenge Cards

After working 4-1/2 hours with Ben's football team helping park cars in the heat and sun yesterday at the Lake County Fair, I decided I needed some "me stamping time" today.  I stamped 2 more cards for this week's LNS challenge.  Don't you just love this ribbon?  It's called Victoria and you can find it on page 190 in the new 2010/2011 Idea Book & Catalog.  In case you're wondering where to find the stamp set I am using for the challenge, it's in the current Summer Mini Catalog on page 16.  Here's what I used to make this card:

Stamps: Watercolor Trio
Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Papers: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Final Press Embossing Folder, Old Olive Brads, Paper Piercing Tool, 1-1/4" Square Punch, 1-3/8" Square Punch, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Victoria Ribbon, Mini-Glue Dots, Dimensionals

I cased this card from the current summer mini, and changed it around a bit.  I won't normally put these colors together, but I think the card turned out nice.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Stamp Sets: Watercolor Trio
Inks: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie
Papers: Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White (to stamp the butterfly)
Accessories: Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Scissors, Dimensionals

Challenge Cards

This week's LNS challenge was to make as many cards as possible using one stamp set.  I choose the set, Watercolor Trio, from the current summer mini catalog.  Here's the details for each card:

Thanks So Much Card
Stamps: Watercolor Trio
Inks: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Old Olive
Papers: Regal Rose, So Saffron, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, So Saffron Ribbon, Pretty in Pink Brads, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, Dimensionals

For my second card I used a color combo that I love together; Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive!  I think the colors look very "rich" together.

Stamps: Watercolor Trio
Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Papers: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Jumbo Antique Brass Eyelets, CAD, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Sponge, Dimensionals, Scissors

For my third card I created border using a piece of typing paper and then sponged Pretty in Pink to create a square.  This was a very simple card to make and I really like how it turned out.

Stamp Set: Watercolor Trio
Inks: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Old Olive
Papers: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Pretty in Pink Brads, Paper Piercing Tool, Pretty in Pink 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Vanilla Hardware/Brads, Designer Label Punch, Sponge, Scissors

I didn't have any Rich Razzleberry ribbon, so I dyed a piece of White Organza Ribbon using a sponge and a Rich Razzleberry inkpad.  I also sponged a piece of Presto Pattern dp with Rich Razzleberry ink.  Hope you liked my cards - thanks for stopping by!

Light Bulb Moment

I was making a card the other day and wasn't sure if the small oval punch would work with it.  I had a "light bulb" moment and pulled out my vellum cardstock and used my punches to create a template.  I used the vellum because it's clear and it will allow me to see if a particular stamp will work with a punch.

Myrtle Beach

I have been MIA on my blog because we have been in Myrtle Beach.  I love, love, love the ocean; it feeds my soul.............Richard and I would wake up, get dressed and hit the beach and walk for a couple of miles.

We had a 2 bedroom condo on the 13th floor that overlooked the ocean.  Here's the view we woke up to every morning.  Because we were up so high, we were able to keep both patio doors open all the time because we had a wonderful breeze off of the ocean.  Loved listening to the sound of the surf at night, but have to admit I was getting a little tired of hearing fireworks going off until 2:00 a.m. almost every night!

Richard, Chelsie and Ben went parasailing and loved it.  They saw a shark in the water below and loved the view.  I loved sitting in the boat and taking pictures.

Long 2 days of traveling home, and I have to admit, I really miss the ocean/beach.  Loved opening the doors at night and falling asleep to the sound of the surf.  Driving through the mountains was also beautiful!

As we were driving through the mountains, we kept seeing feathers floating through the air and couldn't figure out where they were coming from.  We caught up to 2 trucks with a load of turkeys on each of them.
