LNS & Create w/Connie and Mary CCMC181 Challenge

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!  My hope and prayer for you and your family is that the holidays are filled with much love, joy, peach and wonderful memories!

The cards below were made for this week's LNS Challenge, and Create with Connie and Mary CCMC181 Challenge (you can find the blog site HERE).  The LNS challenge was to make a card using white, silver and blue.  Connie and Mary's challenge was to make a card using white and silver.  So I made the same style card for both challenges!  They were both simple to make and I love the look of the house from the Christmas Lodge set, looks embossed with silver embossing powder.  I then ripped the bottom edges of the cardstock, brushed the edges with a VersaMark pad, and then embossed the edges using silver embossing powder.

Card for Connie and Mary's Challenge (White/Silver):

Stamps: Christmas Lodge
Inks: VersaMark Inkpad
Papers: Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper, Silver c/s
Accessories: Big Shot, Northern Frost Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, White Baker's Twine, Mini Jingle Bells, Silver 5/8" Neutrals Jumbo Brad, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2-Way Glue Pen, Paper Piercing Tool, Dimensionals

LNS Challenge Card (White, Silver, Blue):

Same design as above, only I sponged some Bashful Blue and Night of Navy ink around the house.  Here's what I used:

Stamps: Christmas Lodge
Inks: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, VersaMark Inkpad
Papers: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Silver Glimmer Paper, Silver c/s

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Home Decor Blog Hop!!

SUSTARS

December Blog Hop: Holiday Home Decor

Welcome to another SUStars Blog Hop!  This month we're sharing some inspired  projects that can be used as home decor for the holidays. You have just arrived from Karen's Gibson's blog and viewing all of her wonderful projects!  Click HERE if you need to go back for a second peek!!

Joy Banner
The first project is a Joy Banner, and I had a lot of fun making this banner.  I have 2 stocking holders that I use to hang my children's stockings on.  I thought it would be cute to hang the banner off of them.  I love the cute mittens from Winter Wishes Stitched Felt pieces and used them on each end to create a loop to hand the banner on the stocking holders (as you can see in the pictures below).  The banner was pretty easy to make, and I love how it turned out!.  For the base of the banner, I made 2 stockings using Whisper White cardstock and 1 stocking using the Frostwood Lodge DSP, and the Holiday Stocking Die.  I then used Whisper White and Frostwood DSP for the accent pieces for the stocking.  The J and Y were made using the Serif Essentials Alphabet Dies and the Red Glimmer Paper.  I used Sticky Strip Tape to secure the stockings to the ribbon.  The following is a list of the supplies I used:

Stamps & Inks: None
Papers: Whisper White, Frostwood Lodge, Red Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Holiday Stocking Die, Serif Essentials Alphabet Dies, Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder, Winter Wishes Stitched Felt, Mini Jingle Bells,  Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Cherry Cobbler Buttons, Real Red Glimmer Brads, Chocolate Chip 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Snowflake Punch, 1/4" Punch, Dimensionals, Mini-Glue Dots, Sticky Strip Tape

Candle Holder
I found a candle holder on clearance at Land's End and wanted to "dress" it up for the holidays. I love how this turned out, and it really looks great in my dinning room!   I used the Northern Frost Die to cut out snowflakes using Silver Glimmer Paper.  I attached the snowflakes using mini-glue dots.   To fill in the gaps between the snowflakes, I punched 1/4" circles from scraps I had of the Silver Glimmer paper, and attached them using Mini-Glue Dots.  To give the snowflakes a more finished look, I added a pearl in the middle of each of them.  What I love about this idea, is that you can dress up glass candle holders for any type of occasion using our awesome dies!  Here's a list of what I used:

Papers: Silver Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Northern Frost Die, Basic Pearls Jewels, Candle Holder/Candles, Mini-Glue Dots

One more additional project that I am posting today - I made the ornament stocking below for this hop and this week's LNS challenge.  Here's the details:

Stamps & Inks: None
Papers: Whisper White, Real Red, Early Espresso, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Holiday Stocking Die, Serif Essentials Alphabet Dies, Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder, Northern Frost Die, Early Espresso & Real Red Buttons, Mini-Jingle Bells, White Baker's Twine, Real Red Ribbon, Mini-Glue Dots, Dimensionals

LNS Celebration Challenge

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile.  I did back-to-back Holiday Boutiques last weekend, and spent this week playing catch up and was finally able to put up my Christmas decorations!  Wrestling season has also started and that is now taking up our Friday nights and Saturdays.  One more week of work and I'm off until the beginning of the year; the benefits of working at a school!

This week's LNS challenge was to make a card celebrating a birthday, etc.  My card below is cased from a card that I saw on Heather Klump's blog.  You can see all of Heather's amazing projects on her blog HERE.  I actually made this card a couple of weeks ago, so I hope I can remember all the supplies I used!  The following is my "attempt" at listing my supplies:

Stamps: Happiest Birthday Wishes, Pennant Parade
Inks: Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
Papers: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dot EF, Scallop Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Petite Pennants Builder Punch, Melon Mambo Ribbon, Certainly Celery Brads, White Baker's Twine, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Top Note Die Gift Card Holder

This week's LNS challenge is to make some sort of gift card holder, and below if one of several that I made for the Holiday Boutiques that I will at this weekend.  These gift card holders are very simple and easy to make.  Probably the hardest part is figuring out how you want to embellish the front!  I cut (2) Whisper White Top Note dies and (2) dies using designer paper.  I cut one of the top note designer papers in half to create the pocket for the gift card holder.  I trimmed the outline on the full-size piece of DSP and mounted in on one of the Whisper White dies and mounted the 1/2 top note DSP onto the other WW c/s.  I then attached both pieces together by attaching a Baja Breeze Corduroy Button Brad - this way you can swing the top piece open.  Hope this makes sense......

Stamps: Happy Holidays (retired SU! stamp)
Inks: Baja Breeze
Papers: Whisper White, Ski Slopes DSP (retired)
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Oval Punch, White Baker's Twine, Baja Breeze, Corduroy Buttons/Brads, Winter Wishes Stitched Felt, Paper Piercing Tool, Dimensionals, Scissors
