My Cats - Misty & Muffin

These are my cats, Misty & Muffin.  They love to keep me company when I am in my office.  As a matter of fact, Misty is sitting in my office window.  The picture of Muffin was taken when she was in my office sitting in front of a paper bag.  The lighting was just right and I took this picture from down the hall.

Another Digital Page

I thought I would try a simple 8-1/2 x 11 page using my MDS (My Digital Studio) and this is what I came up with.  I saw a beautiful page on Jan Tink's blog (Here) that used a pic of her daughter as the background paper.  This is the page I came up using the same technique.  I know my pages aren't any thing fancy, but I'm having fun trying out my MDS!

Gift Basket Card

I loved the projects on the Royal Blog Tour at the beginning of the month and especially loved the colors Sherrill Graff used on her blog http://latenightstamper-stampandscrap.blogspot.com/2010/04/lns-royal-blog-tour-elements-of-style.html.  I used the new set from the summer mini, Elements of Style for this project.

I used the flower stamp and randomly stamped it over a sheet of Whisper White card stock using So Saffron, More Mustard and Soft Suede ink pads.  I then made a flower using the Circle Scallop punch and fastened the center using a gold brad.  I used the same paper and punched out a Designer Label, and then punched the sides using the slot punch and threaded a piece of Chocolate Chip satin ribbon through the slots.  Below is a "light bulb" moment I came up with for placing the slots where I wanted them.

I then cut out one basket on a piece of Whisper White c/s using the Baskets & Bloom die and stamped it with the same colors.  When I mounted it on the card front, I only put the adhesive on the sides and bottom - this allows you to slip a gift card in the basket.  I sponged the same inks over a piece of the Presto Patterns dp from the summer mini and used this for my background; paper piercing the top corners.  Unfortunately the only gift card I have is an old one from Starbucks; but the contrast helps you to see how the card fits in the basket.  Here's a list of what I used:

Stamps: Element of Style
Inks: More Mustard, So Saffron, Soft Suede
Papers: So Saffron, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Presto Patterns DP
Accessories: Big Shot, Baskets & Bloom Die, Scallop Circle Punch, Designer Label Punch, Slot Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, Gold Brad, Paper Piercing Tool, Sponge, Dimensionals, Adhesive, Scissors

I had a "light bulb" moment making this card.  Sometimes it's so hard to line up the slot punch and I thought that a piece of card stock vellum would work as a guide for using this punch.

You line up where you want to punch using the piece of vellum and secure it with a small post-it-note.

And there you have it!!

Extremes Card

I loved the card that I saw on Renee's blog (http://reneevs.blogspot.com/2010/04/curtain-call-challenge.html) using the stamp set Extreme Elements.  I changed the colors up and used Wild Wasabi (so glad this color is coming back; it's one of my favs!) and Brilliant Blue.  This stamp set, coupled with any of the extremes sets found on page 80, make the coolest cards for guys!  If you order this set (and other selected sets) this month, SU will include a FREE set of selected brads!  I ran the Brilliant Blue c/s through the new embossing folder in the summer mini - Square Lattice, and then sprayed some Silver Foil Smooch Spritz spray on.  I stamped on the piece of Wild Wasabi and then ran it through the folder; only I used the opposite side of the folder for this piece of c/s.  This is a fast and fun card that you can make in under 10 minutes!  Here's the rest of the list of supplies I used:

Stamps: Extreme Elements, Extreme Skateboard, Congrats saying (this is retired SU stamp)
Inks: Brilliant Blue, Wild Wasabi
Papers: Brilliant Blue, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Silver Foil Smooch Spritz, Color Catcher, Silver Brads, Scissors, Paper Piercing Tool, Scissors

Smooch Spritz Flower Card

I saw a wonderful scrapbook page on Patty Bennett's blog http://pattystamps.typepad.com/ using the new Smooch Spritz spray and the Presto Patterns dp (both on page 15) from the summer mini catty.  I also saw some incredible flowers that Lynn Larson http://www.learntostampandscrap.com/learn_to_stamp_and_scrap_/ made using the Scallop Circle punch and I knew I wanted to incorporate both looks into a card.  Here's how I started:

I placed a piece of Presto Patterns Specialty dp inside the Color Catcher.  Shook up the bottle of Gold Glow Smooch Spritz and lightly sprayed the paper.

This is what it looked like after I sprayed the paper.

This is kind of hard to see, but after I sprayed the paper, I lightly sponged the spray into the paper.

I then sponged some Regal Rose over the spray and into the paper.  I varied the intensity of the color so you could still see the gold spray.

And here is the finished card!  Lynn has all the directions on her blog to make these wonderful flowers.  The flowers are two-toned and I used Regal Rose and Rose Red card stock to make them.  They are very, very easy to make!  Once you make your first one, you won't want to stop!  I took the thread out of my sewing machine and sewed a border along the edge (with no thread).  I am having a stamp camp this coming Sunday, and this is one of the projects we will be doing.  Here's a list of what I used for the card:

Sets: Sincere Salutations (saying), Elements of Style (humming bird)
Papers: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Presto Patterns Specialty Designer Paper
Inks: Basic Black, Regal Rose
Accessories: Gold Glow Smooch Spritz Spray, Color Catcher, Big Shot, Little Leaves Sizzlit Dies, Scallop Circle Punch, Distressing Tool, Sewing Machine, Sponges, Scissors

Jean Rag Purse

Happy Mother's Day everyone!  I hope you have a wonderful day!  So what do you think of this rag purse?  I made it from 2 pairs of old Capri pants that I had.  I might add a little "bling" later on, but for now thought I would share how the purse itself turned out.  I cut off the bottom hem on the pants, sewed them together and made them into straps.

Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die, Jeans, Sewing Machine, Thread, Scissors

New Colors

Good morning - Happy Wednesday, thanks for stopping by!  I am so glad that tomorrow is my Friday.........♥  Ben gets out of school early on Friday and has a group of his friends coming over.  Should be fun and I'm glad that I stocked up on pizzas!

I saw this card in my Stampin' Success magazine and thought it was cute.  Lisa Nichols designed the card that I saw, and I changed it up a bit with the ribbon and background.  This card took me all of 10 minutes to make, and  for the card stock I used 2 of the new stamping colors, Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso.  I absolutely love the new Square Lattice Embossing Folder from the Summer Mini catalog; great versatility!  Here's a list of what else I used for this card:

Stamp Set: Wow Flowers
Inks: Chocolate Chip
Papers: Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Big Shot, Flower Daisies #2 Bigz Die, Square Lattice EF, 1" Circle Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Crushed Curry Ribbon, Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, Paper Piercing Tool, Adhesive
