Zindorf Card

I saw a beautiful card on the incredibly talented Michelle Zindorf's blog (http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2010/02/17/warm-in-the-field-tutorial-307/) and thought I would try to make my own version of it.  I didn't use a brayer, but instead used sponges to add the color.  Michelle's card base is larger than the typical 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card, so I adapted my card to fit on a regular card.  Here's what I used to make the card:

Rag Purse

Here it is - my first rag purse, and was it fun and super easy to make!!!  The squares were all done using my Big Shot and the SU! Square Die.  Next I layered a piece of 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" batting in between the squares and sewed them together.  I picked up some precut quilt fabric at Joanne's, but I think for the next purse I will take a little bit more time and pick out the fabric from a bolt.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card from Kim

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I have been having problems with my router and my internet has been down off/on.  My nephew came over the other day and was able to fix it.  The kids were going crazy because they couldn't get on the internet or play xBox live...........I wonder how they would of survived back in the day when I was a teen and all you had was TV!  Anyway, I received this lovely card from my dear friend, Kim.  Sunday (Valentine's Day) was the 4th anniversary date of my mom's passing and Kim sent me this card to let me know she was thinking of me.  Thanks Kim - you are one talented stamper my dear!!

On another stamping note, Ben was off of school yesterday and him and I ran some errands (every teenage boy's dream!).  I bought some quilting material at Joanne's, and should get my square die today from Stampin' Up!  I can't wait to make a rag purse and will post it when I get it finished!  Have a great day everyone!

Butterfly Resist Card

This is another card I made for the LNS Butterfly challenge for this week. I embossed the image from Upsy Daisy using a VersaMark pad and white embossing powder. Next I sponged Orchid Opulence, a little bit of Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry over the embossed image. I found some scrap pieces from the designer paper, Cottage Wall, that fit into the Beautiful Wings embosslit die, and used them to make the butterflies. Did some paper piercing at the corners, and created a border using the SAB Scallop Trim Border Punch and the Cottage Wall dp. The piece of cardstock that is in back of the punched out saying was made using a piece of scrap Rich Razzleberry and the Matchbox Bigz xl Die. Here's the recipe:

SCS/LNS Challenge Card

SCS Challenge Card

While thawing out today (after being outside at work) I thought I would play along with today's SCS color challenge. You needed to use the colors Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Blush Blossom in your card. I used the retired ornament punch from the winter mini to make the the vase, and then ran it through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. This weeks LNS challenge is to make a vintage style card, and I think the Vintage Vogue stamp set from the Occasions mini is a great set to use for this challenge! This is a quick card I came up with. I used a note card for the focal point and trimmed it down a tad. I used the new SAB Scallop Trim Border Punch for the border at the bottom. Card with Sweet Cups

I saw a card on Lynn Put's blog and a tutorial for creating a sliding door to use with the Sweet Cups. Lynn has some great instructions on her blog: http://thequeensscene.blogspot.com. The tricky part is creating the backing and layering, but once you've done one it's pretty easy to do from there. It's a great way to get the candy out of the sweet cups without ripping the card apart. I really love the new designer paper, Sending Love Specialty, in the Occasions Mini. It's very heavy and has a pretty glittery design to it. Here's the details:

Happy Moments SAB Card

I went to bed last night with this card "stuck" in my head.........so here it is. I like how it turned out; it's simple, clean and I think cute. I used the Designer Label Punch at the bottom right-hand corner and then stamped the image on the inside of the note card. Colored in with markers, lined up the Vanilla Designer Holder and pierced where I wanted to set the brads. I then ran just the front of the card through my BS using the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. Secured the designer holder and added some Apricot Appeal ribbon. Fast, easy and cute card!

SAB Butterfly Card

I saw a really cute card on the Stampin' Connection today and thought I would case it. (SC is Stampin' Up!'s version of FaceBook and SCS for demonstrators.) The original card was created by Sheryl Dreyer, and her blog is: www.impressivecreators.blogspot.com. One card I did with a Chocolate Chip background, and the other Pretty in Pink. One is made using the new Scallop Trim Corner Punch and the other the Ticket Corner Punch. The butterflies were made using the Big Shot and the new SU Embosslit Die, Beautiful Wings. I used the new SAB Vintage Labels clear mounted stamp set for the saying. The raised dots on the Whisper White c/s were made using the new Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. Vintage Vogue Card

This week's LNS Challenge was to make a card using a brad. I pre-ordered this set, Vintage Vogue, from the upcoming new Occasions Mini-Catalog and thought I would use it for this challenge. Out of the Box Christmas Card

This week's LNS challenge was to come up with a Christmas card using non-traditional colors, and this is what I came up with. I stamped the ornaments twice using a Rich Razzleberry inkpad, punched them out using the ornament punch, and folded one of the ornaments in-half. I then mounted one ornament on top of the other using mini-glue dots. The ornament and bird are from the Merry Details Die from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I had a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock left over that I used to cut a Top Note Die from and mounted the designer paper underneath the cut out image. Here's the details:
