Mono-Chromatic Fresh Cuts Card

I had to "de-stress" after coming home from Chelsie's first driving lesson, and made this card. I put a post-it note over the die-cut flower to form a border around it. I popped out the die-cut flowers and mounted a piece of Groovy Guava c/s under it. Thanks for stopping by ~ Eileen ~

Set: Fresh Cuts
Paper: Fresh Cuts Notecard, Groovy Guava
Inks: Groovy Guava
Accessories: Groovy Guava Ribbon, Paper Piercing Tool, Small Oval Punch, Clear Brad, Scissors, Stampin' Dimensionals

Fresh Cuts Grad Card

We have another graduation party today and I thought I would make a card using the new Fresh Cuts set. I put post-it notes under the die-cut flowers on the notecard and stamped the background image with black ink, and then just popped out the flowers. I stamped a border using the flower image and a Real Red inkpad, and then tied a ribbon through two of the die-cut flowers. Very fast, very easy - love this set! Remember - you can pre-order this set and die-cut cards (set of $15.00) tomorrow! Have a great day ~ Rubber Hugs ~

Set: Fresh Cuts
Inks: Real Red, Basic Black
Paper: Die-Cut Note Card, Real Red
Accesories: Black Ribbon, Black Brad, Real Red Eyelet, CAD, Small & Large Oval Punches, Stampin' Dimensional, Scissors

Lazy Days....

Today is Chelsie's last day of school, and so begin the "lazy days of summer" for her! So I thought I would use this stamp, Lazy Days from Penny Black, for today's SCS challenge. Can you believe it - after 10 years of stamping, I bought my first non-SU stamp (gasp!)... For some reason, I had a hard time with the background today, so I'm not 100% sure I like the layout. Here's what I used:

Stamps: Lazy Days (Penny Black, Small Script (SU)
Paper: Whisper White, Cutie Pie DP, Brocade Blue, Wild Wasabi, Pixie Pink
Inks: Basic Black, Brocade Blue, Going Grey, Pixie Pink, Pink Passion, Barely Banana, Summer Sun, Wild Wasabi, YoYo Yellow, Blush Blossom
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Photo Corners Punch, Watercolor Brush, Cuttlebug with Tiny Mosiac Folder, Yellow Flower Brad, Stampin' Dimensionals, Scissors

RAK from Skye

Waiting in my mailbox yesterday for me was a very pretty RAK from Sunny Skye DeWeez! I loved her card - she used paint chip samples on the card and then stamped a saying on one of them; great idea!!! Loved the embossing on the card as well. Thanks Skye, you made my day! Eileen

Fresh Cuts

This card is from the set "Fresh Cuts" and you can preorder it beginning June 1st - info. is on my blog. It's a pretty cool set and I love the die-cut cards and envelopes that you also order that coordinate with the set. They come in a pack of 15 and the best part is they are only $5.00!!! I loved the colors from the SCS color challenge so much, I decided to do one more card today using this set. I did a technique called "thumping" to make this card. I inkied up the main image with the Sage Shadow inkpad, and then used a Chocolate Chip marker to "thump" the color over the image. Very easy, very fun! Making this card also helped to keep my mind occupied, as Chelsie had her first drivers ed. class today! Here's the details:

Set: Fresh Cuts
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Distressing Tool, Paper Piercing Tool, Hodgepodge Hardware - Aged Cooper, Large and Oval Punches, Vanilla Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Cherish Card

A friend of mine is renewing her wedding vows with her husband on Sunday and I made this card to give to them. I loved the color combo on the SCS challenge today and thought these colors would work great for this card - which I cased right out of the SU catalog! Here's the details:

Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, VersaMark
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla
Accesories: Scallop Punch, 1 3/8" Cirlce Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, Stamp-A-Mag-Jig, Vintage Brads, Vanilla and Brown Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Scissors, Decorative Scissors

Finally....

I am finally, well 99.99%, done redoing my craft room/office! I delivered a stamping order to a wonderfully creative (and very organized) customer the other day and saw her awesome craft room - all I could say was "Wow"! She had some wonderful organizational ideas that inspired me to rethink how my room was set up. She came up with a great idea to put her large punches on towel racks, and her smaller punches on a file organizer. Thanks for the great ideas Norma! About a year ago I found some awesome 12x12 6-drawer file drawers for my cardstock at Target, and I keep all my c/s in my closet out of the sun. Richard made me a holder for my ribbon a while ago, and I finally put that up. I feel that I can finally work on some projects and don't have to worry about feeling crowded if Ben or Richard are on the computer. Hope you're having a great weekend! Don't forget to take some great pics for scrapping some great memories! Hugs - Eileen

Graduation Card

We have a high school graduation party to go to tomorrow and this is the card I made for the occasion. This party should be fun, and I was told that there will be a chocolate fountain there - I am all over that!! The school colors at Mundelein High School are obviously red and black! I had really some unused Real Red designer paper (from many years ago), and thought I would use it for the background. We have several more graduation parties coming up, so I'm glad I came up with a quick and simple design! Here's the details:

Stamp Set: Sweet & Simple Saluations (retired)
Inks: Black Marker & Real Red & Going Grey Inkpads
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red Designer Paper (retired many years ago)
Accessories: Star Brads, Spiral Punch, Watercolor Brush, Small & Large Oval Punch, Black Ribbon, Real Red Square Punch (retired), Crop-A-Dile, Stampin' Dimensionals, Adhesive

Button Bear

Anyone remember this little guy? This set is called Button Bear and it's one of the first sets I got from SU 10 years ago! I made this card about 5-6 years ago; before eyelets, brads, etc. where "the things" to put on your card. I watercolored the background with Barely Banana, Perfect Plum, and Bliss Blue (before it was called Bashful Blue). I can't even remember the name of the background stamp and I used Perfect Plum and Pale Plum for the cardstock. Hope you're having a good weekend - Happy Mother's Day!

Nugget Tins

I ordered some tins from another SU demonstrator and this is what I made with one of them! I used the CAD to attach large eyelets in the base to thread the Wild Wasabi ribbon through. How easy was that you ask - very!!! I put a strip of Cutie Pie Designer Paper around the base. I then cut 1" x 2 3/4" strips of Cutie Pie DP paper and wrapped them around each nugget. I then put some rub-ons on the top and I'm done! Super easy and super cute - I am going to make these for Ben's teachers for year-end gifts.

Embrace Life Film Strip Card

Here is another card that I made using the film strip technique. I just got the spiral punch and this is a great tool for this type of project! I used by Stamp-a-ma-Jig to place the word "life" under "embrace". This is a tool I use time and time again, and if you don't have one - I would recommend getting! An acrylic sheet using comes with the SAMJ, but another idea is to use vellum cardstock instead. You can then store the vellum cardstock with the image in the case with the stamp set. Thanks for stopping by - I'm off to finish setting up my stamp camp for tonight! Here's the details:

Set: Embrace Life
Inks: Basic Black, Mellow Moss
Markers: Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Pink Ribbon, Aged Cooper Hodgepodge Hardware, Pretty in Pink Brad, Slit Punch, 1 /14” & 1 3/8” Circle Punches, Square Punch, Stamp-a-ma-Jig, 1/16” Hand Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
