Try Stampin' on Tuesday!

Merry Christmas everyone; may your Christmas be filled with much
love, laughter, joy and wonderful moments as we celebrate Jesus' Birthday!

Below is the sketch for this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday! challenge.  I know it's Christmas and a very busy time of the year, but we hope that you'll find time to play along with us this week!  You can post your work of art HERE!

And below is the card that I made using one of the new SAB sets, Feeling Sentimental.  I thought it would pair nicely with the retired DSP, Mocha Morning Specialty that I recently purchased from the SU! clearance rack.  I embossed the Ferris wheel using Ivory EP, and then sponged some Soft Suede and Early Espresso around the image.  Next I lightly dragged an Early Espresso ink around the edges of both the saying and Ferris wheel image.  For the background piece, I used the new Honeycomb EF from the upcoming Spring catalog - isn't the texture really cool!?!  Here's a list of the rest of the items I used:

Stamps: Feeling Sentimental SAB
Inks: Early Espresso, Soft Suede
Papers: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Mocha Morning Specialty DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Honeycomb EF, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Paper Doily Sizzlits L Die, Neutral Button, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Brad, Sponges, Dimensionals

LNS Challenge

This week's LNS challenge it to make a 3D ornament and this challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I tried my hand at making the ornament on the front cover of the Holiday Catalog.  I found a great tutorial on PI that Catherine Pooler did on how to make one of these beautiful ornaments, and you can see her tutorial HERE.

For me, this ornament was a fun "learning experience.  Now that I have made my first ornament, I know the second one will go more smoothly as heat guns and I don't get along very well and I ended up with quite a bit of hot glue on my hands!

To make the ornament, you need 5 sets of each ornament - which means you need to stamp 40 ornaments/20 of each ornament.  I found it much easier when I was cutting out the stamped ornaments, to cut the large ornament the same time as I did a smaller ornaments (as shown in Catherine's video).

Here is my version of the ornament; one pic on the tree and other with it hanging by one of my windows:

Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes
Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green
Papers: Very Vanilla, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Holiday Ornaments Framelit Dies, Cherry Cobbler 3-1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, Large Pearl Basic Jewel, Cherry Cobbler, Dazzling Details, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Heat Gun with Glue, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

LNS Gift Card Holder Challenge

I made the fun purse gift card holder for last week's LNS challenge.  The one thing that I love, love about our dies is that they make projects like this so simple to make!  I found a wonderful tutorial that Julie Buhler did on how to make the purse using the Top Note Die, and you can find it HERE.

I paired Be of Good Cheer DSP with Cherry Cobbler c/s for the purse front/back.  The top of the purse was made using the Scallop Circle and 3-1/2" Circle Bigz Dies.  I added a Christmas tree using the same DSP and the tree die from the Holiday Collections Framelits, and a star from the same Framelits using Red/Silver Glimmer Paper.

Stamps: Pennant Parade (saying), Joyous Celebrations (ribbon at botton of the tree)
Inks: Cherry Cobbler
Papers: Cherry Cobbler, Be of Good Cheer DSP, Red and Silver Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Scallop Circle Bigz Die, 3-1/2" Circle Die, Holiday Collections Die, Little Labels Punch Pack, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Gumball Green Ribbon, CAD, White Brads, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

Serene Silhouette Case

Good morning......I saw a card on PI that the incredibly talented Michelle Zindorf crafted and I knew I wanted to try my hand at the direct to paper technique as well.  Below is Michelle's card, and she has a wonderful tutorial on her blog on how she created her card; which you can find HERE.

And below is my card; I changed it up by added a strip of black ribbon and brads at the corner.  I am amazed at how incredibly simply this technique is and how stunning the results are!  My colors are a little more mutted than hers, but I still like the results.

Stamps: Serene Silhouettes
Inks: Basic Black, Old Olive, Pool Party, Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, So Saffron
Papers: Whisper White, Old Olive, Basic Black, Marina Mist

LNS Thursday Challenge

Happy Thursday!  Welcome to this week's LNS Challenge!  We are going to change the challenges up a bit this month and they will actually run for two weeks instead of one.  Gift card holders are the theme for this challenge and I actually made several for a craft show I did last week.  When you get done creating your work of art, you can upload it HERE.

I used a variety of different punches and dies for the gift card holders, and made the base of the holder using the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die

The following are some of the gift card holders that I was selling at the craft show.  And as you can see, they are still available to purchase for only $2.00 each!

Candle

I am participating in a Holiday Boutique at Mundelein High School tomorrow and made the candle below as one of the items for my raffle prize.  I like how it turned out and it was pretty easy to make!  I embossed the flowers from the set, Watercolor Winter, using the Black EP and a heat gun.  I then colored in the flowers using a watercolor brush, Cherry Cobbler ink mixed with Dazzling Details.  After the flowers dried, I cut them out and attached them to the ribbon using Dimensionals.  I then added some Gold accent to the middle of the flowers using the new Gold Stampin' Dazzle Marker.  I stamped the pine leaves using Gumball Green ink and then cut them and attached them with Dimensionals.

If you would like to order one of these candles, I am selling them for only $8.00 each!  Here is a list of what I used:

This is one of many products I am making for the upcoming Breakfast with Santa Holiday Craft Boutique that I will be at on Saturday at Mundelein High School.  Here is a list of what I used:

The Ghirardelli holder was made using the Scallop Envelope Die.  I ran a coordinating piece of DSP through the die to create a backing for inside of the envelope and cut a belly band 1" x 8".  The trees are from the Scentsational Season stamp set, and I stamped them in Gumball Green.  Here's the rest of the details:

Stamp Camp Card

I am going to have some creative stampers over on Sunday to do a little stamping, and below is one of the cards I have planned for us to do.  My inspiration for this card is one that I saw on both PI and SCS that C. Weeks did, and you can see her beautiful creation using this SCS LINK.

I have to admit that I love how this card turned out - I had one heck of a time taking a picture of it due to the wind, but finally got a decent picture after several tries!

The images were stamped on a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla c/s that I tore at the bottom.  I used some retired DSP that I thought worked well for a background, and then added a saying attached with a safety pin from the Vintage Trinkets collection.  Here's the rest of the details:

Stamps: French Foliage, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, VersaMark IP
Papers: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Botanical Gazette DSP (retired)
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Distressing Tool, Vintage Trinkets, Regal Button, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool. Sponge, Dimensionals

LNS Challenge

This week we have a fun challenge for everyone - Christmas giftables!  For this challenge, I did a gift card holder using a couple of products from the current Holiday Catalog.   Here's more of the details:

To create the base of the gift card holder, I cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler c/s 8-1/2" x 3-1/2" and scored it at 2" and 2-1/2" on the 8-1/2" edge.  I cut 2 pieces of DSP to fit on the front folds.  I stamped the Christmas tree from the set, Scentsational Season, using a Gumball Green inkpad onto Very Vanilla c/s, and then cut it out using the matching Holiday Collection Die.  I used sticky strip tape to create a pocket on the 2-1/2" fold.

Above is a close up of the belly band - it measures 8-1/2" x 1".

Stamps: Scentsational Season, Pennant Parade (saying)
Inks: Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler
Papers: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Silver Glimmer Paper, Festival of Prints DSP Stack
Accessories: Big Shot, Holiday Collection Die, Snowburst EF, Little Labels Punch Pack, Corner Punch, Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals

This week's LNS challenge is to case a card from Pinterest.  I have to admit that I am addicted to PI, and love all the ideas, recipes, etc.!  Below is the card that I cased that was made by the awesomely talented Vicki Burdick, and you can find a link to her blog HERE.

Below is my version of Vicki's card.  I went with Crumb Cake and Rich Razzleberry for my card, but I think I like the color combo that Vicki did better.  Here's the details:

Stamps: Blooming with Kindness
Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake
Papers: Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake, Typing Paper (to create the mask for Apothecary Accents outline)

LNS Thanksgiving

This has been a crazy week for me and I was finally able to get back into my craft room this morning to do this weeks LNS challenge.  The theme this week is Thanksgiving, and below is a candle that I "dressed up" for my kitchen.  I used the large oval punch for the pumpkin using More Mustard c/s, and then sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.  I ran the oval pieces through the new Woodgrain EF and the Big Shot to add some texture.  The leaves were made using the Bird Punch and the Word Window Punch for the stem for the pumpkin stem.

Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede (stem)
Papers: More Mustard, Gumball Green, Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Large Oval Punch, Bird Builder Punch, Word Window Punch, Twine, Candle, Sponge, Dimensionals, Mini-Glue Dots

Gift Card Holder

This week is the MHS Mustang Freshman/Sophomore Football Award Dinner and I made the following gift card holders for our awesome football managers.  Since I had to make several of these, I went with a simple design and just did a base of red/white and used the Scallop Envelope Die for the gift card holder. After I cut the envelope out, I then ran it through my Big Shot using the Lacy Brocade EF.  The most time consuming part was water coloring in the flowers/leaves and then cutting them all out.  But you all know how much I love to watercolor, so I didn't mind that part!  Here's the details:

Stamps: Pocket Fun (retired), computer generated saying
Inks: Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
Papers: Whisper White, Real Red
Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Envelope Die, Lacy Brocade EF, Adorning Accents Folder, Delicate Designs Folder, Modern Label Punch, Pearls, Sticky Strip Tape, Dimensionals, Watercolor Brush, Scissors

CAS LNS Challenge

Happy Thursday everyone!  Hope you are having a great day!  This week's LNS challenge is to design a card with as much white on it as possible.  I saw a card on Pinterest that paired subtle colors with the great set, Lovely as a Tree.  I found the creator of the card I cased below, and you can visit the website HERE to view Lynda's card.

Here is my card.  It was pretty simple to do.  I embossed the trees from Lovely as a Tree using Ivory EP.  I have had several SU embossing powders for years, and keep all of them in air tight Tupperware containers - I guess that does the trick!

After I embossed the trees, I gently rubbed some Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery over the different areas using a sponge.  What I didn't know is that one of the sponges had some Soft Suede on it and it kind of "muddied" up the area where I put applied the Certainly Celery.  I created a mask used my 1" circle punch and a post-it-note for the sun.

Here's the rest of the details:

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Watercolor Trio (saying)
Inks: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, So Saffron (and a "dash" of Soft Suede)
Papers: Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Ivory EP, Heat Gun, Dimensionals, Sponges, 1" Circle Punch, Post-it-Note

LNS - Wood Challenge

This week's LNS challenge is to create a card, scrapbook page, project, or anything else you can think of that uses wood, and below is the card that I created.

First I ran the white c/s through the Big Shot using the new Woodgrain EF, and then swiped the Soft Suede IP over the front.  I like how it turned out - what do you think?  I then stamped the leaves from French Foliage using different IP, and cut them out.  Added a button and banner, and some baker's twine.  Here's the details:

Stamps: French Foliage, Just Believe (saying)
Inks: Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Pumpkin Pie
Papers: Whisper White, Soft Suede
Accessories: Big Shot, Woodgrain EF, 1-1/4" Square Punch, Designer Natural Button, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Dimensionals, Scissors

Stand

I have been noticing that when I cut a lot of cardstock my back starts to really bother me.  I asked my husband if he could make some sort of platform for my cutter and below is what he came up with.  Love the storage underneath for my Big Shot - thanks Richard!

Sponge Bob

Today is my daughter, Chelsie, 20th birthday.  She still watches Sponge Bob when she needs a good laugh, so I attempted to make her a SB card.  Not the best version, but she liked it anyway.  Happy 20th Birthday Chelsie - love you kiddo!♥  I hope your 20's are amazing and filled with wonderful life experiences!

Halloween!

This week's LNS challenge was to create a Halloween project.  I went with quick, simple and fun since things have been a little crazy around here.  My son, Ben, has a bulging back disc that is hitting his sciatic nerve.  So between work, football, taking Ben to the chiropractor and then taking care of him, my life has been pretty crazy!

I used the Candy Wrapper Bigz L Die for my Halloween treat and several punches to create the bat.  After I cut out the candy wrapper, I then ran it through my Big Shot using the Spider Web EF.  I used the new 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon from the Holiday Catty on each end of the wrapper.  I punched out the body of the owl using Basic Black c/s and the owl punch, and used retired DSP for the overlay.  I then cut out a circle using the 1-3/8" Circle Punch and cut it in half.  Next I lined up each piece in the scallop circle punch and cut out the wings.  Added a "Happy Halloween" sayings, eyes and a little heart and there you have it!

Here's the rest of the details:

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Basic Black
Papers: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Retired DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Candy Wrapper Bigz L Die, Spider Web EF, Owl Punch, Word Window Punch, Scallop Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon, 1/16" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Here is a cute treat basket that I made a couple of weeks of ago for the Control Freaks Tour:
